Born and raised in Chester, PA, I am the only child on both my mother’s and father’s sides. I take great pride in being a graduate of Chester High School and the nation’s first HBCU, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, where I earned my BS in Geographical Information Systems & Science.
My professional journey began as a Teacher’s Assistant at Chester Community Charter School. Shortly after, I transitioned into a career at Harrah’s Philadelphia, where I held various roles, including Security Officer, Bike Officer, and Dispatcher. For years, I balanced my time between Harrah’s and Chester Community Charter School before ultimately committing to Harrah’s full-time. After 15 years, I made the life-changing decision to walk away as the only female Lead Surveillance Agent and dedicate myself fully to working with inner-city youth at Chester Community Charter School.
In 2021, I founded OSC Extensions & More Glamtique, LLC. The idea of entrepreneurship had been on my mind for years, but the COVID-19 pandemic solidified my determination to build something of my own. Initially, I wanted to be a one-stop shop, selling hair extensions, sunglasses, candy shorts, tracksuits, and even yoni steams & bowls. However, after seeking advice from a seasoned business owner, I was encouraged to focus on one niche. While I initially resisted the idea, by 2023, I had outgrown clothing and recognized how oversaturated the hair industry had become.
Eyewear became my main focus—I’ve always been a “lifer” when it comes to glasses. Then, as Homecoming approached, I wanted an orange handbag. I reached out to two well-known bag sellers—one never responded, and the other gave me a vague answer. That moment sparked my journey into designing my own handbags, starting with my ideal colors and styles. Less than two years later, I had launched seven unique bag designs.
Within the first month of launching OSC | The Luxe Collection, I traveled to Atlanta to vend at Yelle for the Culture, hosted by Yandy of Love & Hip Hop. As an online and traveling business, I have showcased my brand at major events, including Concord Mall, Dream Event Space, Springfield Mall, church conferences, the Sakk Art Exhibit, and AKA & Delta Sorority events. I’ve even been a featured vendor at Saudia Shuler’s “Da’ Hood Flea Market.”
One of my proudest moments was seeing OSC Bags grace the runway in the Sakk & Friends Art Exhibit Fashion Show, with 8-10 models showcasing my handbags and matching frames.
This journey has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m just getting started!
